On the 7th day of Christmas my true love gave to me, the single girl’s guide to an epic Christmas. Whew that’s a mouthful! There are many of us in the world who are single and have to deal with the Christmas marketing. You know the one where practically every advert showcases the perfect family. No one is ever single. It can get to a girl. So I’m here to guide you to an epic Christmas.
The Single Girl’s Guide to an Epic Christmas
Spend Time with Loved Ones
It’s pretty basic but don’t forget that there’s someone in the world who loves you. They enjoy your company and want to spend time with you. Go spend time with them and the best thing about it is, you can choose how much time you spend with them. If you’re a fellow introvert like me, spending constant time amongst people can be draining. So small bursts of meeting people can leave you feeling loved and motivated.
Plan Solo Ish!
Similar to solo travel, you can have a fabulous solo Christmas. You can decide what meals to have, the tv shows or movies to watch. Hell you can even decide to stay in your pyjamas and make cocktails all day. It is entirely up to you. I will not lie and say that you may not feel lonely sometimes but, there is something freeing in choosing to do what you want. Or, you may decide you’d like to take yourself out. Do it! If you spend your time waiting on others to do something, chances are very high that it won’t get done.
Gratitude All the Time
In moments of loneliness you can find something to be grateful for. It could be something small as having a piece of chocolate to indulge in. Or, something as big as having some peace. Nothing beats having peace of mind. Find ways to be grateful for the little things and suddenly you won’t find yourself so lonely.
The single girl’s guide to an epic Christmas won’t be complete unless I mention reflections. By that I mean, reflecting on your 2019 and what you accomplished. Look at all you did girl! You’re still here. You survived and still are surviving. Clap for your damn self because you are at the end of a decade and you did it! Next, you plan some epic ish for 2020. What do you want to do? How can you do it?
That’s all I have Day 7 of blogmas and I’ve got more to come! Would love to know your thoughts on the single girl’s guide to an epic Christmas. Leave me a comment below.
