So you’ve left it to the last minute and suddenly we’re in August. Your boss is working your last nerve, your budget is tight and you only have 4 days left for annual leave. Okay take a breath. I’ve got a few last minute summer holiday ideas for you.
Last Minute Summer Holiday Ideas
These are a few places that you can either travel solo or with friends. They’re also perfect for a variety of budgets and you don’t need to travel to the ends of the earth. Also, look towards early to mid September since it’s back to school and less crowds. Let’s begin!
We all know that travelling to Paris is ooh lala but it’s also heaving with people during the summer. Plus it isn’t exactly the cheapest of places to visit. However, what about places like Marseille? You can fly or take the train there. There’s also Bordeaux, Toulouse and Dinard. I’ve also heard Biarritz is beautiful. It borders Spain and surfers go there for the waves. Can you say beach vibes?
I cannot believe that I haven’t been to Ireland yet and aim to rectify that this year! If you are too, I’ve seen flights in September on Skyscanner for £24 to Dublin and Cork. If that’s not enough of a motivation to book it then I don’t know what to tell you!
This wouldn’t be a last minute summer holiday ideas post if I didn’t include Italy. You know how much love I have for this country and aim to visit everywhere. So how about something different from Milan, Naples and Rome? Try Turin, which is a little city that’s filled with architecture, good food, good wine and just breathtaking views. Or, there’s always Palermo for the beaches.
Apart from my recent trip to Montenegro and last year in the Czech Republic, I haven’t really been to Eastern Europe. However, that’s not to say that you can’t have a last minute break there. A city that keeps coming up again and again is, Budapest. Not only can you get flights from £36 which is affordable, you can always enjoy one of the many spas. Sounds like bliss!
Don’t stress, plan! Apply for that annual leave and incorporate a weekend in the middle to stretch out your days. If you need any more last minute summer holiday ideas, let me know and I may do a few instastories with what I’ve found.
