Hello you gorgeous humans! Can’t believe that March is almost over and it’s also my birth month! There’s a saying, ‘March roars in like a lion and goes out like a lamb’ and I can’t say I disagree with that. Anyways, I’ve added some micro tasks that I’ve found helpful to my life and thought I would share with you. So here are my 7 lifestyle micro tasks to add to your daily routine. Before I go, please don’t feel like you need to do anything that a) you don’t want to or b) agrees with you.
7 Lifestyle Micro Tasks to Add to Your Daily Routine
Listening to Uplifting Music
I have several playlists on Spotify and Amazon Music that I listen to first thing in the morning. I listen to a wide variety of music so it can range from soca to gospel to rock to rap. What’s important for me is how it makes me feel. It’s especially helpful on the mornings where the sun is hidden by the clouds and I need to get up and exercise. I also listen when I’m having my shower too!
Adding Essential Oils to Your Shower
I learnt this tip from Chloe who owns Vibe and Flow and this micro task is a favourite of mine. Basically, before I step foot in the shower, I sprinkle some essential oil of my choosing and turn on the hot water tap. The water releases the scent and I’m either in peppermint land, a field of lemons or a forest filled with eucalyptus trees. Imagine the music and the scent in the shower. Feel good right!
Daily Dry Body Brushing
I’ve written about this before and all the benefits about (here). I was doing this a couple of times a week and within the last few weeks, I started doing it daily. The skin on my body can take it, especially on my legs, so please be mindful if doing it that often for you will work. Anyways, I’ve found my skin to be a lot smoother and because it takes me a few mins, I dry brush whilst the water is heating up and releasing the scent from the essential oils. Also, a tip is to rinse out the brush after using it to get rid of any dead skin.
Apply it on Damp Skin
I do this both for face and skin. Applying products on damp skin especially things like hyaluronic acid, essences and toners. It helps to lock in the moisture and keeps skin hydrated looking. For my body, if you use an oil based lotion like this one from Aveeno or, the Vaseline body gel your skin simply glows. My dry looking legs and feet are banished throughout the day. You can also do this with cream lotion. Remember, damp skin not drenched!
Taking Magnesium at Night
Sleep has a love hate relationship with me. I love it, sometimes it doesn’t love me. Anyways, I did some digging aka Google and spoke to my GP in relation to migraines and started taking magnesium. It took some time to find the right kind of magnesium for me and I’ve settled on magnesium glycinate. I take it at night because it helps me relax and eventually drift off to sleep. It doesn’t work 100% of the times but it helps. Also, for migraines it helps replace what gets lost during an attack. Also, I noticed the whole sleepy mocktail on Tiktok which includes magnesium. Have you tried it? Did it help you sleep?
Using Teeth Whitening
About a few months ago I noticed that my teeth weren’t as white as they used to be. For me, having white teeth, not Ross Geller level, just adds something to your smile. I just so happened to be watch Lorna Luxe stories and she spoke about, Teeth Whitening Powder by Spotlight. A brand created by dentists and I could use the powder with any toothpaste. They were running a special offer and I am starting to notice a difference. It’s a micro task because you brush your teeth anyway, there’s no after taste and it lasts a long time. I’m still on my first jar! Best believe, I will be repurchasing once it’s empty.
Smoothies for Breakfast
Most days I make a smoothie for breakfast and I can batch make 2 at a time. It’s easier on my stomach, there are delicious healthy options. I use the Centr App which has a plethora of options for me to choose from and it takes me 5 minutes to make them. Plus, I can add in any extra goodies such as, protein powder, probiotics or green powder or collagen. It helps when I’m on the go and eases the, what am I having for breakfast question. There’s nothing more frustrating that finishing a workout and I’m starving with nothing to eat. No fun at all!
