3 More Ways to Cope With Darker Days

3 more ways to cope with darker days

Hello beautiful people we are officially in autumn and heading towards darker days. When I wrote my post on coping with darker mornings we were still dealing with lockdowns. Whilst those tips still stand, we’re out of restrictions. I thought I would share 3 more ways to cope with darker days.

3 More Ways to Cope with Darker Days

Taking Vitamin D3

We all need the sun to helpf our body with certain processes. Sunlight helps with our mood, reduce stress, strengthens our immune system and many other functions. It also helps our body produce vitamin D which does everything I previously mentioned. During the autumn and winter months, sunlight is reduced and we may experience vitamin D deficiency. Taking a vitamin D3 supplement can help combat this. Consult your GP before starting any supplement especially if you’re on medication for other issues.

New Hobby

Another coping mechanism is to start a new hobby. Choose something that you will enjoy and be able to maintain. Having a new hobby that you enjoy will distract you and keep your mind active. For instance, I’d love to try pottery classes. It will keep my hands busy and spark creativity which can wane when it’s dark and cold. What hobby do you want to try?

Get Social

Finally, the last tip to help you cope with darker days is to socialise. We’re able to fully socialise with our friends and family, take full advantage of it. You don’t need to spend a lot of money, get creative and think outside of the box. Visit each other at home, use Groupon vouchers, play games, movie nights and so on. I’ve seen people organise a cocktail night and each person makes a cocktail with a particular colour. So if I wore green then my cocktails would be green.

These are my 3 more ways to cope with darker days. How do you cope with it? Share your tips below. As always, thanks for reading and commenting.

Until next time, be well! x
