10 Simple and Cheap Ways to Add Luxury to your Life

Why hello there! How have you been? How’s the weather in your neck of the woods? I’ve been enjoying the last few days of the mini heatwave the UK has been having. I know some people really struggle with the heat, so here are a few tips to help you. In today’s post I’m sharing 10 simple and cheap ways to add luxury to your life. When you think about luxury, brands like Hermes or Chanel can instantly appear in your mind. However, I’m a firm believer that it’s all about a mindset and a few practical tips.

10 Simple and Cheap Ways to Add Luxury to Your Life

Flowers

Adding flowers to your life is the simplest way to add a bit of luxury to your life. I’m not talking about the most expensive bouquet from the most expensive florist. You can go to Lidl and pick up a beautiful bunch for £3 and brighten up your space. Or every room in your home. Flowers are an easy and affordable way to add that luxe feel.

Scent Your Rooms

Have you ever walked into a hotel foyer and encountered a beautiful scent? You know the kind that smells like money? Well you can give your living space a similar vibe. I’m a big fan of oil diffusers, room sprays and incense sticks. You could even use candles to give off that smell. One of my favourite scents is from The White Company and it’s the Seychelles range. It always makes me feel like I’m on a beach holiday.

Buy Quality Coffee

If you’ve been a long-time reader of mine, you will know that I am a lover of hot chocolate however, many of you enjoy a good cup of coffee. With this in mind, get the best quality coffee that you can purchase time after time again. Do the same for hot chocolate. It makes a massive difference especially as this is something you consume on a regular basis. Luxury isn’t all about money, it’s a lifestyle and a mindset.

Good Dishes

Do you remember growing up and your parents or grandparents only used the good dishes for special occasions? I do and now I cannot fathom why save for best when you are the best. The dishes you bought or were given are to be used and enjoyed. I remember seeing an influencer purchasing some beautiful plates from TKMaxx and then using them for breakfast on a regular day. Things are to be used and enjoyed!

Learn to Plate

Now that you’re using the good dishes, learn to plate your food. Plating is all about presentation. You could have the simplest meal but plated properly and it takes it to a whole different level. There are chefs on YouTube or even Instagram who are showing you easy ways of plating your food. What I learnt about plating is to a) take your time b) add things in 3’s and c) have an idea of how you want it to look before you begin.

Good Bedding

I was reading a Glamour article that said in the UK we’re in a sleep deficit. Basically we’re not getting sufficient sleep, which is something that I can attest to. One of the things that I find help me is to have really nice feeling sheets and pillow cases. I purchased some sheets from Ikea and it’s so luxurious. I didn’t pay alot for them because I got them from Ikea. On the pillowcases front, I bought 2 pairs of silk pillow cases which have been a dream! My skin and hair thanks me and not to mention how breathable they are. I will say I feel like a bouji chick and the gag is I bought them off Amazon for less than £20 each!

Good Sleep Wear

Sticking with sleep, another way to easily add luxury and affordably is to get good sleep wear. You’re looking for fabric that’s breathable and soft. Silk or satin pyjamas always make me feel expensive and luxurious. I also find them breathable and comfortable to sleep in.

Learn about Wines

This is something that I recently read about and thought I would add it to the list. Wines are everywhere however, there’s something about knowing the difference between a demi-sec wine and a dry wine. You can do it from the comfort of your own home. I stumbled across this free online training. Alternatively, you may want to go on a wine tour in Bordeaux and learn it that way.

Declutter

Another thing that adds luxury is a clear and clean space. When you walk into any space that’s free from clutter, that smells nice feels luxurious. So all those clothes that are living on the floor or that chair, clear it up and you will notice a difference.

Add a Soundtrack

Finally on this list of 10 simple and cheap ways to add luxury to your life, is to add a soundtrack to your life. What I mean by this is to create a playlist for different things. So for instance create a playlist for when you’re doing your nighttime skincare routine. Or, a playlist whilst you’re cooking up a storm. What would be on your playlist?

That’s all I have for you in today’s post. What are the things you do to add luxury to your life? Let me know in the comments below.
