Hello beautiful people! You know that I love skincare and am always willing to try a product or 3, to improve my skin. Well this extends to beauty treatments too! So today I am sharing with you the 5 things you need to know about laser hair removal. Oh and read until the end for a lovely treat 🙂

5 Things you Need to Know About Laser Hair Removal

I have been going to get laser hair removal since 2018. However, last year, I was approached by *Pulse Light Clinic to try a course of laser hair removal with them and I haven’t looked back since!

Consistency is Key

One of the biggest takeaways about laser hair removal is how important consistency is. With laser hair removal, one session isn’t enough. It’s not a case of having one session and presto, the hair is gone! For most people, 6-8 sessions are sufficient and that’s because of the hair growth cycle. However, depending on your body you may need more sessions. I know I certainly do! When I attended my sessions consistently it made a massive difference. My hair growth has drastically reduced. When we were in lockdown, I didn’t really need to shave.

Cost Effectiveness

I’m sure you’ve probably seen and heard that laser hair removal is expensive. At least I used to think it was, until I did a rough calculation on how much I spent on waxing. Needless to say £35 a month, for the next 10 to 15 years didn’t appeal much to me. That money I could take and spend on 6 sessions and not have to think about hair removal on a monthly basis. It’s saved me money in the long run and I’m not mad at that.

Easy Peasy

In a word, yes! With *Pulse Light Clinic, their staff are highly trained, thorough and quick! At my appointment, I spend most of my time having my temperature checked, sanitising my hands and answering questions about any health changes. When I go in for my appointment at 12.45pm, I’m usually finished by 13.10pm and she’s done both my underarms! The process is genuinely easy. If you’d like to see how easy, check out this Instagram reel I did.

Is there any Pain?

You maybe wondering if there’s any pain. I can honestly say that for me, it’s not as painful as waxing. Some sessions were completely pain free and I could have fallen asleep if I was there long enough. Other sessions it felt like the slight stinging of a rubber band hitting my skin. Put it this way, on a scale of 1-5 where the worst pain is at 5. The most I’ve felt is 3 and the pain didn’t last long either. Within 5 minutes of finishing the session, it would have dissipated.

The Benefits

For me laser hair removal has been one of the best things I could have done. Apart from having the hair removed, I have also noticed that the skin on my underarms are smoother and less dark. You can see the difference in the photos below.

The one on the left is from my 3rd session, which was in February 2020. The photo on the right is August 2020 and that was my 5th session. Not the best quality photos as they were screenshots from video I took. However, you can see the difference.
