It’s pretty obvious that summer is in full swing and that means more outdoor events and bare legs. If you’re like me, you might struggle with the whole hair removal process especially when you want to wear cute linen dresses. You’ve probably tried shaving and waxing which might work for you and to be honest, in a pinch it works for me too. However, I want a more affordable, convenient and longer lasting effect. At an event last year I was introduced to the *Braun Silk-epil 9. So read on to find out my thoughts on how to get silky smooth legs for summer.
How to Get Silky Smooth Legs
Prepping your legs
Braun put importance on prepping your skin before you actually epilate your legs so, they included exfoliation heads in the box. You attach the head to the device and use it in the shower before you start epilating. I’ve spoken about exfoliation before and how it helps remove dead skin (read here). Exfoliation is a key on how to get silky smooth legs. It also allows any hair hiding underneath the skin to come to the surface to be removed.
How to use
Now that your skin is exfoliated, you are ready to begin epilating. It’s really simple, you pull your skin taut and go in circular motions on your legs. There are 2 speeds on the Silk-epil 9 which pulls the hair from the root however, my advice is to go on the fastest one. Personally, I found that the slower speed to be more painful.
Yes there is some pain attached to it and it’s especially more painful around that time of the month. You’ve been warned! Braun claims that the epilator can remove hear 4x shorter than waxing, which I can attest to and it gives me that silky smooth skin for summer.
A tip for reducing pain is to apply an ice pack to the area before epilating.
I love this epilator because it does what it says on the tin. Plus, it comes with the exfoliation heads that you really need to get that silky smooth skin for summer. There are also extra attachments, one which is great for massaging your legs in the tub.
Now that you know how to get silky smooth legs for the summer, will you be trying the epilator? Let me know in the comments below.
