winter holiday suggestions

If you live in the UK, or any country that has winter you’d probably be wondering how soon will spring be here. I know I have especially as the temps dip below zero! So I thought why not plan a winter holiday; it’s irrelevant whether I actually take said holiday….a girl can daydream. Here are my winter holiday suggestions.

Winter Holiday Suggestions

Cancun

When I think of Cancun, beaches, warm weather and history comes to mind. Yes it is a popular spring break destination, but we’re not in spring ;). Averaging a temperature of 23 degrees celsius during January and February, this little paradiso is perfect for those who don’t like too hot temperatures but want to get away from the snow, rain and dark mornings.

If laying on a beach isn’t your thing, then don’t worry because there’s a variety of activities you can partake in. Ever wanted to visit Mayan ruins? Or the Cancun underwater museum? Or you could go visit the Crystal Caves?

British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Thomas Cook fly directly to Cancun, with flights costing around the £400 mark per person. Or, if you’re a traveller with means you could look into private jet fractional ownership, where you and some friends can rent a private and fly to Cancun. Or anywhere else for that matter when you want.

Tip: Use Skyscanner to find the cheapest flights and search the month, instead of specific dates.

Dubai

Part of the UAE, Dubai surprisingly has a lot of offer besides sand and desert. If you’ve been following me for awhile then you would know that I visited Dubai (click here and here). Apart from visiting the amazingness that is the Burj Khalifa and Burj Al-Arab, I would also suggest you visit Bur Dubai and experience the market vibes. Plus you’ll get to see the largest diamond ring in the world! I kid you not!

You can also take a drive across to Abu Dhabi and visit the most beautiful mosque I’ve ever seen (so far!).

There’s also having dinner in the desert under the stars after riding a camel. Or, if you’re adventurous try a dune buggy safari.

Emirates Airlines, which I’ve found to be incredibly comfortable, plus their flight attendants wear the coolest hats,  fly to Dubai and currently have a sale 😉

Seychelles

Now this is incredibly far away with approximately 17 hours flying time and a stopover in Dubai but, its the Seychelles. If you really want to get away from the cold weather, to me this is a perfect destination. Average temperatures are around 28 degrees celsius in February which is great beach weather. Expect some rain but like all tropical environments, it falls and disappears just as quickly as it started 😉

You can also go snorkelling, scuba diving or sailing. From what I’ve seen and heard, the place is absolutely stunning and trust me, if I could hop on a plane tomorrow I would go!

If you could hop on a plane soon then Emirates Airlines currently has a sale. Qatar Airways also has a route to Seychelles with a stopover in Doha.

Tip: Check the dress code and culture of any new country you’re visiting. Some places are more modest than others, which is something ALL travellers should respect.

Those are my winter holiday suggestions and although I won’t be travelling just yet, I would love to know where you’re going. Or, where would you like to go for your winter holiday? Let me know in the comments below.

As always, thank you for reading and don’t forget to subscribe if you’re new.

Until next time, be well
