My Morning Skincare Routine

Sensio deep pore cleansing

Happy Thursday peeps! It is officially summer! Hurray! Unfortunately I’m not sure the weather in the UK got the message. Anyway, today’s post is about my skincare morning routine. I thought as a skincare junkie, I may as well share what I’m currently slapping on my face. Now, this isn’t a post about buying what I use, however if something catches your eye then great!

First off, my skin type is combination on the oily side and a bit of sensitivity. Complex right?! I’m a firm believer in cleansing, toning, serum and moisturiser. For some people they can skip a toner and that’s what works for their skin. If I skip a toner, whether it’s in my morning skincare routine or evening, I feel it and it’s not cute!

Cleanser

I have been using White Mint by Spa Ceylon, which I picked up in Sri Lanka, to wash my face. It has a milky like consistency, that got thick due to the weather in this country and is annoying but I deal πŸ™‚ It softens my skin, removes excess oil

To assist with clearing out my pores, I recently purchased a face brush. I couldn’t splash out on the Clarisonic that everyone raves on about, so I found the Sensio Spa deep pore cleansing brush. I liked the size, the colour, the price and the fact that the brushes are of a silicon material.

Combined with my cleanser, my face gets a really deep clean and leaves it with a smooth feeling.

Toner

I decided to get rose water and use as my toner because of the benefits. It balances the ph in my skin and because I have some redness, it helps to calm that down. Plus for me, I’m liking using skincare products that are more natural.

Rose water toner and Vitamin B3

I spray the rosewater a couple of times in a cotton pad and gently wipe my face and neck. Don’t forget your neck!

Serum

Following up from my toner, I use a serum. My most recent purchase, which I posted on instagram, is a Vitamin B3 serum by Instanatural Beauty. This serum is good for fine lines, hyperpigmentation (which women of colour do have), dark spots, acne spots and wrinkles. So after all that it proclaimed to do, plus it was on discount on Amazon UK I needed it.

Absolute rose water organic and Vitamin B3

I’ve been using this for about 3 weeks now and I really like it. The consistency is milky and feels light yet moisturising on my skin. I didn’t expect any miracles but I can see that my skin is a bit more evenly toned since I started using this serum.

Kiehl's ultra facial moisturiser

Moisturiser

My final step is my Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer with SPF 30. Again another milky consistency that is really light and protects my skin against the sun. A little goes a long way and it hasn’t clogged my pores. I will say that my skin does feel a little sticky-ish, but I suspect that’s due to the spf and I don’t really notice it.

Kiehl's moisturiser and paw paw ointment

I also like to use something on my lips, because dry cracked lips aren’t cute! I use Lucas Paw Paw which is an all purpose ointment and gets rid of any dryness. If I’m going out then I apply my make-up or just go make-up free and I’m good to go πŸ™‚

So that folks is my morning skincare routine. Do you do something similar to me? Or completely different? Let me know in the comments below, I’m always interested in what skincare products people use to get their skin glowing πŸ™‚

As always thank you for reading. Please subscribe to keep up to date with my latest posts.

Until next time, be well
