5 Benefits of Travelling on the Eurostar

Hello beautiful travel fiends! How have you been? I haven’t posted in quite some time but I’m slowly getting back into the game. In today’s post I’m sharing the 5 benefits of travelling on the Eurostar. As you know, I love travelling via train and even more so when I end up in another country.

5 Benefits of Travelling on the Eurostar

£39 One-Way Tickets

One of the first benefits of travelling on the Eurostar are the one-way tickets to Paris for £39. Travelling via train to some of the popular UK destinations cost a helluva more. Here you end up in a whole different country. It works best if you have flexibility with your dates and times. Think leaving on a Tuesday and returning on a Fri or Saturday.

Luggage Allowance

For those who can’t do carry-on luggage only travel, the Eurostar is perfect for you. If you purchase a standard train ticket, you’re entitled to 2 pieces of luggage and hand luggage. Living your best bougie life (love that for you) then you’re entitled to 3 pieces and hand luggage. Any extras, there’ll be an additional charge. They also have allowances for the ski bunnies, cyclists and musicians. Check out more information here.

Liquid Restrictions

You know the liquid olympics you go through when you are travelling with just hand luggage? Yeah, that’s a think of the past with the Eurostar. So no need to decant your shampoo and conditioner into smaller bottles. You could also bring your full-sized favourite bottle of perfume. Depending on the train, you can bring back alcohol but there are some restrictions which you can read about here.

Multiple Destinations

The Eurostar doesn’t only go to Paris just in case you were wondering. They travel to Amsterdam, Brussels, Rotterdam and Lille which are direct trains. However, there are Eurostar connecting services to Dusseldorf, Dortmund, Antwerp and Liege. During winter aka ski season they offer a service to the French Alps such as, Albertville. You can also easily connect to other destinations with other train services. This would be to places like Bordeaux, Biarritz, Nice, Lyon, Marseille and many more.

Less Travel Hassle

The final benefit of travelling on the Eurostar is less travel hassle. All the immigration processes are done in London (if travelling from St Pancras) and when you arrive at your destination, you simply get your luggage, get off the train and leave. Also, as the stations are generally in the centre further public transportation is easily accessible. Some stations are attached to the metros which makes it easy to get to your final destination.

These are my 5 benefits of travelling on the Eurostar but I’m sure there are others. If you have more to add to the list let me know in the comments.

Thank you for reading and commenting, until next time, be well! x
