5 Places I Want to Visit for 2022

Hello you beautiful travel fiends. Welcome to another travel Thursday blog post. Today I’m sharing 5 places I want to visit for 2022. I know I usually do a wanderlust list in January but, I was travelling (read here) and it’s been raining meatballs since 2020 so no travel. I should say that I probably won’t be able to visit all these places but it’s nice to dream :). Here we go!

5 Places I Want to Visit for 2022

Iceland

Yes, I’m aware that I’ve been before but, I didn’t get to do all the things I wanted to do. For instance, the Northern lights. Technically they were there but if you remember (here) the moon decided to steal the show. I’d also like to take the boat ride and go whale watching. I have this desire to see whales and dolphins in their natural habitat. I won’t mind revisiting the Blue Lagoon because that was amazing both during the day and night. Finally, visiting the golden circle and some of the waterfalls are firmly on the list. There are about 10 of them but Skógafoss, Gullfoss and Goðafoss are at the top of the list. They all have something different to offer, for instance Goðafoss is a mini Niagra falls.

Vietnam

I have a friend currently living her best life out there and it made me want to add it to the list. One word, cuisine. I love Asian food and Vietnam food stalls and hole in the wall restaurants are calling my name. Plus, they have that hot tropical weather I’m fond of as it reminds me of home. Apart from the delicious food they have to offer, I’d like to visit the world’s largest cave, Hang Son Doong which is so huge it could fit a skyscrapper! I’d also like to visit Halong Bay and the Mekong Delta. Maybe it’s from watching too many movies where they were both mentioned.

Seville

Bringing it back to this part of the world, Seville, Spain has been on my places to visit list for awhile. I’m not sure why I hadn’t visited this place before but hopefully that will change this year. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Why Seville? Apart from the architecture, flamenco dancing and Spanish food (food seems to be a theme here)….I get to practice my Spanish. You know how I keep on about learning? Well I’ve been learning Spanish and I think it’s time to get out of my comfort zone and start speaking…eek!

Athens

Sticking to Europe, we have Athens. I briefly visited Athens when I went to Santorini and on the way back had a 6 hour layover there. A whistle stop tour to see the sights like Acropolis however, I’d like to take my time. Go visit the Parthenon, a few museums and learn a few Greek words to add to my repertoire. It’s also a place that seems easy to navigate solo with their metro and bus system.

Hawaii

Finally, for the list of 5 places I want to visit for 2022 we have Hawaii. This is another place that I have had on my list for sometime. Partly because it was within grasp last year but Rona put a stop to all that. So until I finally check out the beautiful hiking trails, amazing beaches and learn about their local culture it will remain on the list.

I have waxed lyrical about the 5 places I want to visit for 2022 and would love to know what’s on your wanderlust list? Also, if you’re bilingual do you have any tips on how to overcome shyness whilst speaking another language? I’d love to know so please share!

That’s all from me today, thank you for reading and until next time, be well! x
