Hello beautiful people! How have you been and welcome to October! I have no idea how we got here so fast but we here! Anyways, restrictions around the globe is slowly lifting and travel is resuming. With this in mind, I’m sharing my 4 skincare tips whilst travelling on a long haul flight.
4 Skincare Tips Whilst Travelling on a Long Haul Flight
New Skincare
My first tip is a don’t. Don’t trial out new skincare on this flight or on your vacation. If it’s a new product or ingredient that you’re introducing, like tretinoin or retinol. Now is is not the time. You have no idea how your skin will react and if it reacts negatively or, your skin needs to adjust, your flight isn’t the time to find out. It will probably ruin your holiday.
Hydrate, Hydrate and Hydrate Some More
We all know that flying can dry out your skin so do all you can to keep skin hydrated. For instance, using a good facial mist regularly can help. I really like the Dr Jart Cream Mist, you can read about it here. Also, go easy on the alcohol if you consume them whilst on the flight. For every glass of alcohol you have, drink some water. Your liver and tummy will be grateful. Finally, after doing your skincare routine seal in all that goodness with a facial oil that’s suitable for your skin type.
Cleanse Your Skin
One of things I’m an advocate for when travelling long haul is sticking to your skincare routine. Think about it, apart from the regular pollutants you’ve picked up, you’re now on a plane. Wash your face, don’t forget to double cleanse and use the 60 second routine. Oh and if you leave your face slightly damp before applying your products, especially hyaluronic acid, it will help with hydration.
Remember Lips and Tips
My final tip is to please remember your lips and hands need love too. Apply a nourishing lip balm such as, La Roche-Posay Cicaplast, to help stave off dry lips. Plus it’s affordable and lasts a long time. Your hands, with all the handwashing and sanitiser it will be in need of a little tlc. Shea butter, almond butter or coconut oil based hand creams make really great hand creams. I’m a fan of this one from the Body Shop.
We’re safely resuming travel so whilst you’re wearing face masks, washing hands and packing hand sanitiser our skin needs to be looked after too. I hope my 4 skincare tips whilst travelling on a long haul flight helps you. I’d love to know if you’re travelling and what your skincare tips are. Leave them in the comment box below.
