Welcome to February 2020! We can all breathe a sigh of relief that January is finally over! For me it wasn’t only the last few days that I felt a bit ugh about it. How was January for you? Today’s post are some simple bucketlist ideas for the single girl. There are just some things that you have to do as a single girl.
Simple Bucketlist Ideas for the Single Girl
Take a Solo Trip
If you’ve been a reader of mine for a minute, you would know I’m a travel junkie. I’m a big believer in solo travel trips. If you’re afraid, I get it but it’s good to take a calculated risk. I have done posts on weekend breaks that are easy. Try it! I even convinced a class mate of mine to book a trip for a few days away. She loved it so much she did it twice!
Create Emergency Savings Account
This bucketlist idea isn’t just for the single girl, it’s for everybody! Life is filled with uncertainty and there’s no such thing as a job for life. When creating your emergency savings account, think about your expenses. Then you want to add another couple hundred so you’re comfortable. Multiple that by 3 and that’s the amount you will need to save. I say 3 as a minimum to give yourself time to look for another job.
Do You Have a Pension?
If we’re lucky we will grow old gracefully and will need a pension to live off of when retirement hits. Whilst you’re young and working, don’t think, just start a pension. Most companies in the UK provide a pension for their staff. Ask your HR department about how much in contributed and whether you can contribute more yourself. If your circumstances are different and you don’t have a pension, start one yourself. Speak to a Financial Adviser and start saving towards it, because it’s really important.
Uplevel Your Skills
I am always encouraging you lovelies to level up. It could be learning a skill that you’ve always wanted to learn. Perhaps cooking isn’t a strong point and you’d like to spend less on takeouts. Check out YouTube or your local college for a courses. Last December I signed up to a fashion photography course and I had the best time! I learned so much, have been left feeling inspired and have a skill.
Curate Your Wardrobe
You would notice that your fashion tastes have changed over time. 10 years ago you may have worn bodycon dresses with 4 inch heels. Now it’s form fitting but not skin tight and trainers. Clothes are meant to enhance and be comfortable. There’s nothing more soul destroying that wearing uncomfortable shoes. Can I get an amen?! Find clothing that makes you feel happy to wear it over and over. Think quality over quantity.
Start Dating Yourself
If you were in a relationship for a number of years, perhaps now would be a good time to get to know you again. We evolve and sometimes girls we need to take a breath and reacquaint ourselves. So take yourself out, wine and dine you.
Those are my simple bucketlist ideas for the single girl. Have you done any of these? What else needs to be on the list? Leave me a comment below. Let’s get the conversation going.
Thank you for reading and until next time, be well! x
