Life Lessons I Learnt in 2019

lessons learnt in 2019

Hey peeps! This is the week of reviews on the blog because I thought it could be inspirational. Or you could use it to pass time. Whatever floats your boat :). Plus it’s always good to reflect on what you did so you can move forward. Today’s post are the life lessons I learnt in 2019.

Life Lessons I Learnt in 2019

Grief Never Leaves

In my 2018 life review, I mentioned that my mom and auntie passed away 5 months apart from each other. Needless to say it was pretty tough going. In 2019 I learnt that grief never leaves you but it does change. The feeling of loss and sadness surrounding that hasn’t gone away but, it isn’t as acute as before. A bit like the pebble in the lake. After you throw the pebble and the ripples subside, the lake is forever changed but you don’t see it on the surface.

Health is Wealth

Oh my goodness my health suffered a lot in 2019! My immune system took a battering and I also had an accident at work that injured my back. This year I’m going to take care of my health a lot better. The reality is that as a single and child free woman, I’m the only one I can rely on. That means I need to do all I can to ensure that I’m healthy.

Skincare is Queen

If health is king then skincare is queen. Plus they go hand in hand, if you’re healthy then your skin tends to be healthy. Your skin is the largest organ in your body and it needs to be treated kindly. That means I need to find the right products that works for me. You need to find the right products that works for you. I’ve realised that natural doesn’t always mean best and sometimes you need to use a product made in a lab. Otherwise, why would God have created science!

Privilege of Travel

I recognise that I am in a position of privilege to be able to travel. Not everyone has that privilege and because of this, I hope to use my little space to inspire others. Inspire people not just to travel but to open their eyes and minds to think for themselves. Travel has opened my eyes up to the beauty in difference. This helps me to learn and grow as a person.

There are more life lessons I learnt in 2019 but I don’t want to bore you. I would love to know, what life lessons you learnt in 2019? When you reflect on the last year of the decade, what stands out the most to you? Let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for reading and remember to sign up for my weekly newsletter.
