I don’t know about you but I’ve always felt pulled to visit Egypt. How I haven’t visited the country as yet is beyond me. Egypt is a country that spans the past right into the modern era. Situated in the northeast of Africa, and neighbouring Israel. Egypt is home to one of the world’s oldest and most evolved ancient civilizations. Of course, all that is left now are dusty pyramids, mummies, and hidden treasures. But with history available for you to explore around so many corners, you will have an amazing and inspiring holiday. From what I’ve heard (one of my bffs is Egyptian), here are some of the best things to do when visiting Egypt.
Best Things to do When Visiting Egypt
While Egypt is a very hot country, it is certainly worth trying to avoid going during the summer months. This may affect the cost of the trip as you may well be travelling at the most popular time of year. When it comes to seeing Egypt, you are also best seeing the country alongside a tour guide. It’s therefore useful to book Budget Egypt Tours that will take you to where you need to go in safety.
The Valley Of The Kings
One of the most famous areas of Egypt is the Valley of the King’s. On the banks of the River Nile, the valley is home to a staggering sixty-three burial tombs. There have been numerous pharaohs found as these tombs have been excavated.
Some tombs contain just one room, while one tomb contained an amazing 120 different chambers. Very often, the tombs uncovered are full of ancient treasures belonging to the pharaoh who was buried inside them.
Take A Nile Cruise
One of the best ways to see Egypt is to view from on a cruise of the Nile. You should note, that you will get no shade whilst on the water. As mentioned before, it’s best to avoide doing this during the peak of the summer. If you do decide to go during summertime, wear a hat and slather on that spf!
Visit The Egyptian Museum
The Egyptian Museum is in the middle of being moved to a bigger and better venue. This will enable the collection to have much more room and enhanced security. But for the foreseeable future, you can still see all of great exhibits such as Tutankhamen’s treasure.
Visit The Great Pyramids
A visit to Egypt would not be complete without taking a trip to see the great pyramids. Of course, the jewel in the crown has to be the Sphinx. You can visit this and then speculate about the loss of its nose. Poor guy!
The Egyptian Beaches
Why not take yourself off to the gorgeous beaches and catch some sun while the sounds of the sea relax you. You may not even want to move, which is fine. Most beaches have fantastic resorts where everything is in one complex, so you can roll from breakfast, to the beach, to lunch, to the pool, and finally to the bar.
Take A Trip To The Capital Cairo
The modern world and the ancient world crash into each other here in this bustling and exciting metropolis. Be memorized by the minarets and get lost amongst the market stalls taking in the sights, sounds, and smells of this mind-blowing city.
