Hello, my fashion giraffes! The temperatures have dropped drastically and this got me thinking about travel (what else is new). More specifically, I was thinking about airport outfits. There’s nothing more annoying than being on a flight feeling cold and uncomfortable. So when I was approached by Femme Luxe to pick a few pieces to style, it was the perfect opportunity. So I came up with three autumn airport outfit ideas. I’d love to know what you wear to the airport so leave me a comment below.
Autumn Airport Outfit Ideas
The Formal Outfit
First up is this look is for the ladies who are just flying in for the day, straight into a meeting, maybe a meal and back on the plane. You know the traveller who is on the clock and always have their laptop out perfecting their presentation.
I styled this stretchy comfy *faux leather corset with a men’s white shirt, white trainers and some comfy jeans. If jeans aren’t your thing, a pair of straight cut trousers or, leather leggings with ankle boots would work. Another idea I had to restyle the corset is over an organza blouse. Or maybe under it? I will need to try it out and let you know which one looks better. Either way you could wear it to travel in and restyle it up for later on in the evening. Coat wise, I just threw on my second-hand Burberry trench coat.
The Faux Leather Joggers
I clearly have a soft spot for all things leather and couldn’t resist these *joggers. To me this is perfect to create the second look in this autumn airport outfit ideas post. This outfit is for the girl that is stylishly spontaneous :). She, like me, can quite easily book a flight for a weekend away and throw a few essentials in a bag. Adventure calls and she answers.
The colour is khaki which is a surprisingly versatile colour. I kept it warm and comfy with this old H&M orange jumper and denim jacket from Primark. These are pieces you can easily find in your closet. You could restyle the joggers for an evening look by throwing on a lace bodysuit and a blazer. Or, if you’re just going to the movies and want to be stylish yet comfy, this is a great item to have. Side note, it didn’t have any of the awful chemically smell some faux leather pieces have.
Easy Lounging
My final autumn airport outfit look is this *lounge set which is so comfy. I didn’t expect it to be so soft but it is! One thing I will say is that it’s a bit on the thin side. Not necessarily a bad thing especially if you use it to layer with. It’s also perfect for chilling in your hotel room after receiving the most epic spa treatment. Can’t you picture it? Feet up, munching on some food and a fabulous cocktail.
The styling was kept very simple and I just wore a khaki puffer jacket with some trainers. It’s the kind of outfit that you could throw on a full length teddy coat and still look put together. Another way to style it, is to throw the top on over the leather joggers or some leather leggings, heels and you have a dinner look.
For me travel outfits need to be comfy and versatile because you never know if your checked baggage will arrive. Or if you end up unexpectedly going out as soon as you land. Don’t think it can happen? Well it happened to me when I arrived in Sri Lanka.
Would you wear any of these looks? Or do you prefer to wear a bodycon dress or mini dress to the airport? Let me know in the comments below.
Thanks to Femme Luxe for the *gifted items and until next time, be well! x
