Summer in London is pretty great especially when the sun is shining. There’s always something exciting or new happening which gives you that neverending happy feeling. You know what I mean? Anyway I’m here to share with you all the fun summer things to do in London. A few fun summer things have already passed like, Wimbeldon where you not only get to enjoy tennis but the infamous Wimbeldon hospitality. Hyde Park and Wireless festivals but there’s lots more in store!
Fun Summer Things to Do in London
Outdoor Theatre and Cinema
Just picture yourself outside sipping on some prosecco either watching one of your favourite movies or, taking in a Shakespeare play.
The Open Air Theatre at Regent’s Park holds a couple of productions every summer. At the moment there’s a Midummer’s Night Dream and next they’ll be performing Evita. Ticket prices run from £25 to £65.
If theatre isn’t your kind of thing, there are a number of outdoor cinemas for you to choose from. One is on a boat, which takes you on a cruise and after docking, treats you to a movie. Or, there’s the big screen in Leicester Square gardens that have free screenings during the month of August.
The BBC Proms
If classical music is more up your alley, don’t forget the BBC Proms which is on every summer. Showing at the Royal Albert Hall, it might be a great evening for you to dress up and put on some sexy shoes to enjoy the symphony. On all the way through to September, you can purchase tickets here.
Feel the Festival Vibes
You may have missed a few festivals but, there are still a few more in store. South West Four in Clapham Common is over the August bank holiday weekend and has got a few favourites in the line up. Read more here.
If that isn’t your thing but a bit of soca and pretty costumes are, look out for the annual Nottinghill Carnival. Of course being trini I had to mention this :). It’s 2 days of music, dance and beautiful costumes. Not a bad way to spend your summer days.
Additionally, just taking a moment to spend with family and friends could be the most fun summer things to do in London. A BBQ, a picnic in your own garden if you have one with a summer playlist.
Now I’d love to know what fun summer things are you up to? Let me know in the comments below.
