Looking Back at 2017

looking back at 2017- Marseille

Well hello, my lovelies how have you been? It’s been a hot minute since I did a blog post so, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! As I write this I’m preparing to fly back to jolly cold England, with mixed emotions. As we start each year, there’s the ‘new year, new you‘ push. I’m not against it but it puts so much pressure on a person and you end up either becoming someone you’re not or, end up with some kind of self-loathing. Both aren’t good for you. I’m all for setting goals and moving forward. To move forward, you need to take a look back and this post is looking back at 2017.

Looking Back at 2017

I had set a couple of goals for 2017 and one of them was to travel more than I did the year before. I’m happy to say that I did it!

Travelling solo was also something I wanted to do and for my birthday I flew to Barcelona on my own! It was liberating and I definitely recommend that everyone tries it at least once in their lives.

This year I aim to travel more and to destinations on my wanderlust list. There’s a big world out there and the more I see, the more I learn about myself and that’s not a bad thing 🙂

Work! Work! Work!

I was drifting when it came to job/career and to some extent I still am. However, I was able to get myself a more stable job which would support my other projects like travelling and the blog.

Speaking of the blog, I wanted to increase the quality of content so you guys would benefit. I’d like to believe that I accomplished some of this and my goal this year is to be more organised and take more risks. I love blogging and would love to do it more full-time but I also love having regular income. Tell me what you’d love to see more of on the blog.

Expect the Unexpected

As per usual, life threw several curve balls and all at once. One being that I had to move from a place that I loved and now I’m feeling a bit displaced. So this year finding a more permanent abode is high on the list so wish me luck!

There was also a death in my family and it really affected me but I’m allowing myself to grieve for the loss of my loved one and all I will say is that #cancerisabitch.

One unexpected event that was amazing, was that I wrote my first article for Designed a luxury lifestyle and interiors magazine. Working with the magazine was a dream come true and hopefully, there will be more of where that came from.

Looking back at 2017, I realise that it was incredibly tough with some sweet spots in between so goodbye 2017 I can’t say I’m sad to see you go! And here’s to a better 2018 for all of us. How did you find your 2017 was? Share in the comments below and remember I’m on Bloglovin too!

Until next time, be well!
