Well hello, there my fashion giraffes! It feels like it has been a long week and we’ve all been waiting for the weekend to arrive and save us like a knight in shining armour :). Yes, it’s been one of those weeks for me. Anyway, enough of me moaning and let’s get on with today’s post which is this denim jacket diy.
Denim Jacket DIY
I had noticed this trend recently with all the patches or embroidery on practically everything! But the one that caught my eye was the denim jacket.
I seem to have developed a love for denim jackets the last couple of years and if my bank balance permitted I’d have more than the 3 I currently have. Although having 3 in rotation is more than sufficient for me, however, I digress. I really wanted a denim jacket with patches and thought I could actually come up with my own possibly, cheaper.
What You Need
1x denim jacket (or whatever item you like)
Iron-on patches (Amazon, eBay)
Straight pins
Iron
How To
Because I wanted all the emphasis to be placed on the back of the jacket, I left the front alone and utilised all the space on the back.
Next, arrange the patches in a position that you’re happy with and pin them.
Flip the jacket over and iron the inside of the jacket. Be sure to test how much heat the fabric can take by doing a patch test. With denim, it’s very tough so it can take medium to high heat, with steam.
Keep going over the patches from the inside of the item especially over the edges.
Congratulations! You have yourself a customised denim jacket 🙂
