Summer is in full swing, as a matter of fact, it’s almost over *sobs*. Nevertheless the sun has been out, most times, and of course, you need a pair of sunglasses. In today’s market there are a plethora of sunglasses you can choose from; whether it’s colour, glasses frames, shape, polarised etc. But do you know why you actually need to wear sunglasses? Well, I’m here to share the benefits of sunglasses.
Benefits of Sunglasses
UVA and UVB
This is pretty obvious but often overlooked. Our eyes are what we use to view life through and just like we need to apply sunscreen to protect our skin, we need to wear sunglasses to protect our eyes. Ideally, we need a pair of sunglasses that protects you from UVA and UVB light. Look for the ones that are UV 400 as they protect from both UVA and UVB. If you think that because you wear eyeglasses, you won’t be able to protect from the sun’s rays, you would be mistaken. A lot of places offer prescription sunglasses, so your eyes are covered!
There are certain things, I believe, that can complete an outfit. Shoes and handbags can definitely make or break piece to an outfit, so too are sunglasses. You can look quirky, chic or cool just by switching up your sunglasses. The right pair can convey a particular message. Throw on a simple pair of jean shorts, a kimono with a cami and some cat-eye sunglasses. Et voila! You’re rocking that laid back holiday festival vibe.
If you live in a city or near one then you understand that pollution is real and your eyes are impacted by it. There are dust particles flying through the air, smoke being blown into your face and everything else in between. It’s grim and can be pretty disgusting, however, a pair of sunnies can minimise some of these effects.
Every once in awhile you just need to be a bit invisible and a pair of sunglasses will do that for you. Don’t you think?
