Hello beautiful humans and February! Did January feel like 49 days instead of 31 to you? Because same! Anyways, in today’s post I’m sharing the annual beauty treatments that I receive. It’s a bit of high maintenance to remain low-mid maintenance for the months ahead.
The Annual Beauty Treatments that I Receive
Eyebrow Microblading
I started getting microblading about 8 years ago and haven’t looked back. For me it gives my brows shape and ease of maintenance because I have a foundation to work with. In terms of pain, there will be some pain because you’re having hair-like incisions make into your skin. However, numbing cream is applied which dulls most of the pain. Also, I’ve had worst period cramps so it’s not as bad and it’s only once a year. Have you had your eyebrows microbladed before?

Chemical Peels
The next is something I do during autumn/winter time and usually a course of 3 or 6 when there’s a Black Fri offer on. When I had chicken pox a few years ago and had to get professional help to deal with the scars, chemical peels were instrumental in clearing up my skin. I’ve since then kept going for annual sessions to help even my skin tone, soften and smoothen my skin. If you’re thinking of getting a chemical peel done, do check that they’ve dealt with your type of skin before and read reviews if it’s a new place. Some people can’t have chemical peels.
Laser Hair Removal
I wish I had gotten laser hair removal a lot sooner than I did because wow has it made a difference! Less worry about hair removal especially when I’m travelling. It minimises the stress of dealing with shaving, waxing or epilating. The one thing I would say is that laser is a process and depending on hair type, area and hair growth you may need more than 3 sessions. For the most part there’s minimal pain for me except the bikini area which is a little bit tender and takes the most amount of sessions. It can be costly but I started my laser hair removal using GroupOn and haven’t looked back. Plus, a lot of places have offers if you book a course of 3.
Microneedling
Similar to the chemical peels, microneedling was also a treatment I did to help with the chicken pox scars. I used to do microneedling at home but decided to see a professional so as not to damage my skin. It’s been great for reducing hyperpigmentation, reducing black heads and improving the quality and texture of my skin. I also notice that my skincare products absorb a lot faster and makeup, when I wear makeup, goes on smoother. In terms of pain, I thought it would hurt but for me, it really doesn’t. There was only 1 session where I ‘felt’ it around the eyebrow aread. This was because the Esthetician used a needle to go deeper into my skin.
LVL Lash Lift
The final annual beauty treatment that I receive is an lvl lash lift. I tend to do these around or near my birthday. The lashes God blessed me with aren’t the full or luscious kind some of you have. How does it feel to be God’s favourite? Anyway, the lvl lash lift gives my lashes that extra oomf and makes me look like I made an effort with or without mascara. Generally, the lvl lash lift lasts around 6 weeks however, it seems to last a lot longer on me. I do not know why, nor do I care, I’m just happy it does :). It isn’t painful, maybe slight discomfort because it’s the eye area. Have you had an lvl lash lift before?
These are the annual beauty treatments that I receive. I’d love to know what your annual or bi-annual beauty treatments are. Let me know in the comments below.
As always, thank you for reading and commenting. Until next time, be well! X
