I’m also a fan of lifting weights which is great for both women and men as they get older, to help reduce bone density.

Be mindful of your intake of sodium, sugar, and unhealthy fats. Proper nutrition helps ward off diseases, keeps your mind sharp, and supports physical strength, all critical factors in maintaining independence.

Staying on top of your health through regular check-ups can prevent diseases from advancing and manage ongoing conditions effectively. As cliche as it sounds there’s some truth to, ‘prevention is better than cure’.
Mental Fitness
Just as physical activity keeps your body strong, mental exercises can help you keep a sharp mind. Social interactions also stimulate your mind and reduce the risk of mental health issues like depression and anxiety. Also, if you’ve learnt something new on social media doing some more reading or looking at videos on the subject can be beneficial to your mental fitness.

Install grab bars in the bathroom, ensure there is adequate lighting throughout the house, and remove trip hazards like loose rugs. Simple adaptations can make your home safer and more comfortable as your mobility needs change.
