4 Tips to Find More Adventure on Your Travels

Travelling is always a pretty exciting experience. You’re heading off to new places to experience new cultures, foods and vistas and you’re not going to have to worry about work or day-to-day life for a while. However, it is fair to say that travel can always be more exciting if you approach it the right way.

With that in mind, below, you will find some top tips to help you find more adventure on your travels so that your next trip will be the most exciting one yet:

Travel solo

You know that I’m a massive advocate of solo travel and if you didn’t, you know now! When you travel alone, not only do you have complete control over what you do while you’re away. You’re also more likely to get to know the locals or other travellers who will more than likely get you to tag along with them on their various escapades too. Providing you embrace it and say “Yes!” as much as possible, you’re sure to have an unexpected and adventurous time. Possibly more than you ever had before.

Go to an event you wouldn’t normally

Whether you hit up the Superbowl while you’re in the U.S. or take in an international cricket game in India, and following it for the first time via https://sportnews.in/Cricket. Attending an event that you would never normally think about attending is a great way to expose yourself to new things and experience the world through the eyes of others. Whether you end up loving the thing or not, it will open your eyes to exactly what’s out there. This is why you should aim to attend one big exciting event on every trip no matter what it might be. For instance, I bought tickets to go to Cirque du Soleil on my own and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also didn’t realise that box seats are boujie :).

Stay with a local family

Staying in a big fancy hotel can be a lot of fun, but it does keep you on the tourist track. These days, thanks to services like Airbnb and Couchsurfing, it has never been easier to book accommodation with a local family and doing so will really help you to fully embrace the culture and learn more about the place you are in. You’ll learn a lot about yourself and others by doing this and the locals always know the best places to visit off-the-beaten-track where adventure is all but guaranteed.

Spend more time in nature

Nature is the ultimate adventure. There’s nothing wrong with sticking to the local tourist traps and enjoying all that modern life has to offer, but if you really want to have an adventure on your next trip, then you need to get out in the hills, climb mountains, visit the lakes, get out into the woods and sleep under the stars. You’ll have a wonderful time and a newfound appreciation for life if you do.

As you can see, adding more adventure into your travels is a really simple thing to do, but you have to be willing to embrace it and go with the flow to truly find it.
