You know when you’ve had that amazing holiday, where you ate and drank everything presented to you? Yes, that holiday that you’ll be talking about for weeks and wishing you were still there. It could actually take a toll on your body, especially those long haul flights. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the whole process of checking in on-line, arriving at the airport, duty-free shopping, boarding the plane and taking off. I have such wanderlust and I’m always looking for the next trip. However, as much as I enjoy it, I know that flying can take a toll on my body and post flight, it needs a bit or nurturing. With that in mind here are a few tips on post flight body care. Hopefully, this will give you some ideas on what to do for your body after an amazing trip.
Post Flight Body Care
Exfoliation
A good body scrub, especially after a flight can make a person feel, like a person! You slough off the plane aroma and any area that needed a bit of TLC. I tend to use exfoliating gloves from Soap & Glory or, The Body Shop. If I need that extra scrub though, I would go for Victoria Secret body scrub. I have heard amazing things about Optiat coffee scrub and can’t wait to try it out and see if it ‘s as amazing as it sounds.
Remove old nail polish
Raise your hand if you’ve come back from holiday and your nails are still chipped 2 weeks later? raises hand. I used to be that girl and each time I looked at my fingers and toes, it depressed me. Now, I remove them at least by the next evening to give them a chance to breathe. You could also rub a bit of coconut oil on your cuticles to nourish them.
Foam Roller
Unless you’re travelling business class with the reclining chair, you will have some sort of ache. Not to mention lifting your luggage off the carousel or, if you’re taking public transport to and from the airport. My solution for some of my aches and pains is to foam roll them away.
Rehydrate
Coconut, lemon, cucumbers, infused, plain or any kind of water, I drink to rehydrate my body. Even if I’ve drunk my body weight of water on the flight; long or short haul, I still find myself dehydrated when I get off the plane.
Vitamins/Supplements
I don’t know about you but, unless I am going on a trip for more than a week, I tend not to pack my vitamins or supplements. I know, not great but it is what it is. Plus some vitamins, I don’t take every day; like my Vitamin B12 or Organic Turmeric with Bioperine.
So once I get back home, every night for a week I take my vitamins and supplements to reset my body. If I consumed more alcohol and sugar than normal, I really focus on gently rebalancing my system.
