5 Benefits of Habit Stacking

5 benefits of habit stacking -majeang.com

Hello beautiful people! In a previous post, I wrote about the winter arc things that you could possibly do if you were interested in starting your own winter arc. Essentially it all boils down to implementing habits that will yield results you’re looking for by the time 2025 rolls around. It’s easier to start a new habit than it is to stop habits that don’t serve you. This is where habit stacking can help you because this strategy is simply pairing a new habit with an existing. This allows you to easily incorporate it into your life and most importantly stick to it. Here are 5 benefits of habit stacking.

5 Benefits of Habit Stacking

Increased Productivity

Firstly, habit stacking can boost your productivity because you’re combining tasks which allows you to do more in less time. For example, listening to a language podcast whilst going for a 20-minute walk on your lunch break. You’re improving your knowledge base whilst getting your steps in, improving your cardiovascular and getting some fresh air all at the same time. You’re targeting your body and mind all by simply taking a walk and listening.

Improved Self-Discipline

One of the things I learned when it came to working out was, motivation only carries you a very short distance. If you want to hit certain gym goals like improving your stamina, you need to show up consistently. Discipline is the thing that helps you with being consistent and if you’re self-disciplined with small things you can be self-disciplined with bigger challenges.

Enhanced Motivation

I mentioned that motivation is short-term, and it is. However, it is also necessary for you to be able to get started. Think of motivation as the key in the ignition, starting the car. You need that spark to get you excited. When you link new habits to positive emotions, you’re more likely to stick to them.

Reduced Decision Fatigue

Have you ever gotten tired of always having to make a decision? Deciding what to cook, eat, when to do the laundry and the list is endless. One way I’ve reduced decision fatigue is through habit stacking. A simple habit I’ve started is to put a load of laundry on whilst I take the dry clothes off the air dryer and fold them. It’s created a seamless process where I don’t have to think about it and my mind is freed up to deal with the million other things life requires of me. Have you tried habit stacking to reduce decision fatigue? How is that working for you?

Long-Term Success to Achieving your Goals

The final benefit of habit stacking is achieving long-term success. Small consistent habits over a period of time will yield results. So if your habits are positive, like reading more, learning something new or having some kind of movement consistently will lead to your life transforming. The pyramids were built one brick at a time. If one tiny brick being laid everyday for however many years can lead to one of the wonders of the world. Imagine what stacking small habits everyday, week or year can do for your life.

That’s all I have for you today and I’d love to know what habits you’d like to introduce into your life in the comments below. Thank you for reading the 5 benefits of habit stacking and until next time, be well! X
