Magnesium and Ashwaghanda

So for my girlies who suffer with insomnia or simply want to have a good sleep routine, this might be a solution for you. The combination of magnesium and ashwaghanda is *chef’s kiss* because not only does this has me relaxed but it helps me manage stress and sleep better. It took me sometime to find ones that works for me and I did. It’s Nutrition Geeks with their 3 in 1 magnesium which contains magnesium glycinate, malate and citrate. Each one helps your body differently so you’re getting more bang for your buck! The ashwaghanda has it’s own concoction of l-theanine and l-tryptophan which helps with psychological function and mental performance. Please do your research before deciding what supplements to take, check out this article here for more information.

Gua Sha Tool

I’m sure you’ve heard about doing gua sha on your face before. It’s a practice that has been done in China and Japan for centuries. In Japan it’s called ‘kashin’ and the sumarai performed this to alleviate muscle tension and improve circulation. It was also used for healing by removing blocked toxins and energy from the body. It’s the same concept when doing gua sha on the face except, it’s a much gentler. For me, I like doing gua sha because it helps with circulation, reduces any puffiness and I just find it relaxing especially when it’s part of my evening routine.

Madeotherapy Tools

I went to a salon that had lymphatic roller machines for a course of massages however, it wasn’t something I could sustain. This is where Tracie Ellis-Ross comes in because she shared these tools on her social media that you could use at home. After reading up on them I learnt that it originated in Egypt, China and India to prompt physical and mental wellbeing. It became popular in Colombia in the 90s where they refined the tools. It activates the lymphatic system, helps with circulation and production of collagen and elastin. With all those benefits I promptly ordered a set from Amazon and I’m so happy I did. When used regularly, my hands and feet aren’t as cold as they usually are, even in summer. Also, when I’ve got a bit too hard with the weights it really helps my muscles to relax.

Foam Roller

Speaking of muscle relaxation, the foam roller is part and parcel of my workout routine. I use the foam roller for recovery and to get to areas like my back and shoulders. I do get sore from lifting weights and using a foam roller helps to alleviate some of that soreness because it gets rid of the over production of lactic acid which makes my muscles happy 🙂

Dry Brush

I’ve spoken about this before, read more here, and it has firmly remained a solid member of wellness tools I swear by. I do this before I jump in the shower because it helps to remove dry skin cells and unclogs pores. This has helped me get really soft and smooth skin because who doesn’t want that. I certainly do!

Egyptian Magic Cream

This is the final product on my list of wellness tools and products I swear by is the Egyptian Magic Cream. Firstly, it’s not a cream or has a cream like texture. It’s more of a balm which turns into an oil when you’ve rubbed it together. It can be used for rashes, cuts, scrapes, removing scars and more. However, I love it for skin slugging which is excellent for restoring my skin barrier. Perfect for this time of year because we all know the heating is going to switch on soon.

These are the wellness tools and products I swear by. Do you use any of these products? How have they helped you? Let me know in the comments below.

As always thanks for reading and until next time, be well! X
