Hello my beautiful people! We are getting into the full swing of the holiday season and so I thought I would share the top 10 movies to watch this Christmas. Some will be oldies and others not so much. Hope you enjoy and let me know whats your favourite Christmas movie to watch.

Top 10 Movies to Watch this Christmas

Home Alone 1 and 2

Yes I know it’s 2 movies but you can watch them back to back. We all know the story, Kevin gets left behind and fends off the burglars from robbing his family home. In the second one he’s in New York City and those same robbers are back. If you haven’t seen it, make this year the year you watch them :).

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Jim Carrey was so perfect for this role that if they decide to remake it, they’d struggle. This is the movie based upon the Dr Seuss book of the same name. You’ve got snow, the cute people from Who Ville and The Grinch who is not about the celebration of Christmas. He decides to steal Christmas until he meets Cindy Lou who thinks everyone needs a bit of Christmas in their lives.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

Okay this isn’t technically a Christmas movie however, it does give you the feels. It has travel, inspiration and courage. It’s about this guy called Walter who works for the National Geographic and they’re closing his department. The photograph for the last issue goes missing and he goes to find it. Instead he finds himself along with some cool adventures.

Holidate

This light hearted romantic comedy is about a girl and guy who team up on holidays as each other’s date. The girl is fed up of her mother always trying to set her up with someone and he’s looking for a stress free date for the holidays. They don’t just get together for Christmas but all the holidays and somewhere along the way fall in love. Awww isn’t that cute 😛

Jingle Jangle

This Christmas movie is about getting your mojo back. A toymaker has his ideas stolen by his assistant and he loses all desire to create new toys until his Granddaughter pays him a visit. This isn’t set in modern day so imagine beautifully dressed people, snow, magic, singing and some dance choreography. A feel good kind of movie.

Last Christmas

GoT fans will be happy to see the main love interest in this movie. The story falls Kate who plays an elf but doesn’t believe in Christmas. She meets Tom who decides that she needs to believe in the spirit of Christmas. Oh and it’s got music by George Michael on the sound track.

Holiday in the Wild

If you grew up in the 80s you would appreciate a bit of Rob Lowe, who stars along Kristin Davis from Sex & The City. She plays the wife of a wealthy business man who ends their marriage when their son goes off to college. She’d planned a second honeymoon for them and decides to go on her own. It turns out to be a life changing adventure.

The Christmas Chronicles 1 and 2

Kurt Russell as Santa Claus is probably one of my favourites. He’s not your warm and fuzzy type of Santa, he’s a cool Santa who gives you what you need, not what you want. The first introduces you to Santa and 2 siblings who try to capture Santa on tape. The next one is about saving Christmas from a trouble maker. I know it’s another 2 movies but you need something to watch whilst you’re eating dessert in your pyjamas.

The Last Holiday

This stars Queen Latifah and LL Cool J. She’s an amazing cook with dreams of travelling to Prague to stay at a hotel where the chef prepares the most amazing dishes. She gets some bad news and decides that life is worth living in the present moment. Actually the hotel does exist and I saw it when I went to Prague, you can read here.

The Holiday

The ultimate film to watch with your girlies. Two women living in different countries decide to swap homes for Christmas and find love. The irony when they did the swap to get away from their relationship woes. Popcorn, prosecco and nibbles are definitely a must.

Most of these movies you can find on Netflix or Amazon Prime. I also suspect they’ll be on local television as well so check your tv listings. These are my top 10 movies to watch this Christmas but of course there are more. Did I manage to mention any of your favourites? Let me know in the comments below.

As always, thank you for reading, commenting and engaging. Until next time, be well! x
