Visiting the Shard in London

The Tickets

I am a big fan of exploring my city but it can be expensive. Needless to say, when there was a sale on tickets to visit The Shard, I quickly purchased them. Don’t mind that it took about a year for me to use the tickets but that’s Rona for you! Tickets are usually from £32 but currently they’re £25 per person, book here.

The Process

When you decide your chosen date, I would check the weather forecast and the opening and closing times. They can vary and also have a look at your ticket to ensure you’ll be able to attend around the time you’d like to go. If I were you, I would get there early as there can be a bit of a queue. There are 2 types of queues: one for fast track and the other for standard entry. Please make sure you’re in the correct queue and you can always ask the staff to point you in the right direction. Once you’re inside, there’s a security check point where your bags are scanned. If you want photographs, they are directly after the security and then you’ll finally be able to get to the lifts.

There are 2 lifts that take you to the top and then a flight of stairs so please bear this in mind if there’s anyone with physical disabilities.

The Views

Finally, you get to see the views and I was impressed! You can walk around and see a 360 degree view of London. In the sunshine it’s pretty spectacular.

Famous landmarks can be seen at a distance and if you’re feeling a bit parched there’s a bar. Enjoy your cocktail in one of the tallest buildings in Western Europe.

I really enjoyed visiting The Shard in London and think it’s the perfect way to spend a couple hours before heading to Borough Market for some food!
