Hello lovelies, how are you all? As you can see from the title it’s all about the benefits of body brushing. I posted a photo on Instagram about body brushing last week and people wanted to know more. So read on to find out more.
Benefits of Body Brushing
What is it?
Simply put, body brushing is basically brushing your sking with a brush made from natural fibers. It comes in different shapes so you can find the perfect one for you. Also, it’s not too expensive so it won’t break the bank. Plus, with time you can do your entire body in under 5 minutes.
Why Body Brush?
The benefits of body brushing are plentiful and actually noticeable fairly quickly. After 2 weeks of body brushing almost everyday, I have noticed the cellulite on my legs has started to reduce.
My skin is a lot smoother and softer which makes sense. One of the perks of body brushing is the removal of dead skin cells and ingrown hairs. It’s a bit like exfoliating your body and we all know how I feel about exfoliation! It also helps with circulation which is a blessing to anyone who constantly has cold hands and feet.

Anyhow, first body brushing needs to be done on dry skin. Before you jump in the shower first thing in the morning, get those dry skin cells off and that blood circulating. Then you jump in the shower. I’ve read where it’s safe enough to do twice a day but I don’t have that kind of energy.
My next tip is to brush briskly towards your heart. You want to start at your feet with an upward movement. I once had this professionally done and I was told this moves the blood towards your heart. Also, you need to be harsh on your skin. You want a bit of pressure but not so much that your skin feels raw when you’re finished.
Be gentle on your décolletage area because the skin there is thinner than the skin on your arms and legs. You also want to brush across so its towards your heart. Think, left shoulder to the middle and right shoulder to the middle.
