The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Skincare

Hello, my skincare junkies how have you been? I know it’s been a hot minute since my last skincare post but today I’m coming to you with the lazy girl’s guide to skincare. This was a special request from one of my besties, who is so not into skincare but I tell her she needs to be. Hopefully, all you girls who aren’t into it will find it helpful and useful.

The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Skincare

Before I jump into the lazy girl’s guide to skincare, I cannot stress enough the importance of looking after your skin. It’s the largest organ you have and just like you need to take care of your heart, you need to care for your skin. Secondly, work out what your skin type is. You can either get this professionally done or do a bit of research, yes it takes time but it’s so worthwhile in the long run.

Let’s go!

The Shower

Find the right products for your skin and if you can find ones that you can use in the shower great! I do this and it saves me time especially since I like to hit the snooze button a lot! Regulate the temperature so it’s luke warm and not scalding hot. If you’re washing your hair, cleanse your face last 😉

If you put your pumice stone in there, you can remove the dead skin for soft pretty feet!

Utilise Your Nightstand

If you have a nightstand, I would suggest getting an aluminum plant pot from Ikea or a prettier one and filling it with all your cleansers, moisturisers, serums, eye creams etc. You can then cleanse (depending on the cleanser you use), tone and moisturise in bed, whilst watching YouTube videos or, whatever takes your fancy. Don’t forget to include cotton pads and Q-tips to remove eyeliner.

Take Care of Your Insides

Take care of your insides because it will show up on your skin. With that in mind drink more water, stop smoking and eat less crap; which includes sugar and dairy. I know, I know but if you want that glowy skin, then you need to do it.

Also, if you’re on medication it can have an effect on your skin so be sure to check this out with your GP. Usually it’s dryness which requires more hydration.

Exfoliation

You all know I’m a big fan of exfoliation and in particular, the acid kind. I find that it’s a more effective and gentler way of exfoliating your skin than physical exfoliation. Basically, this works whilst you’re asleep and all you have to do is apply it to your skin. It can’t get any simpler than that.

You probably noticed that I didn’t include any face wipes in the lazy girl’s guide to skincare. Well, that’s because they do more harm than good especially if it’s every day. You may save time but not face.

As always thank you for reading.

Until next time, be well!
