City Break Styling

city break styling - satin dress

Hello, my fashion giraffes. Thank you for the love on my last fashion post (read here). I’ve always wanted to link my love of fashion with my love of travel. What better way than to do a what to wear post? This time it’s a city break styling post and I hope you like it!

City Break Styling

So you’ve booked a 2-night fabulous city break to Paris or Rome and you’ve got to pack light. It’s hand luggage only which makes taking every possible option not possible. What’s a girl to do?

Don’t worry I’ve got you covered with 2 looks that will have you looking fabulous for your city break.

Satin Dress

The satin dress or rather satin anything has become one of the hottest trends this summer and with good reason! I like a satin cami dress because you can dress it up with some espadrille wedges or, heels. For a more casual look, you can wear a pair of flat sandals or, some trainers.

This dress I picked up from Na-kd Fashion for under £10 in the sale and I’ve provided alternatives below. I also thought that adding a white shirt or denim jacket would give it a different look. Less clothing to pack and more city break styling.

Linen Shorts

Another summer trend that I deem more of a classic than anything else. I grew up in the Caribbean and linen is pretty much found everywhere. These shorts I picked up from Primark for £6 and they are the perfect city break styling staple.

Because of the neutral colours, you can pretty much pair this with anything. I wore it with another linen piece by Mango which I loved because of the colour and lace up back detail.

The versatility of linen shorts is that you can wear it with a t-shirt, silky cami vest or that white shirt I mentioned earlier for a casual dinner.

Alternatives
Linen shorts – H&M Striped shorts
Yellow top –  Zara draped linen top

I picked these pieces because of the versatility and chic city vibe. What about you? How would you style these pieces? Comment below!

As always, thank you for reading and remember to subscribe to stay up to date with my lifestyle, travel and fashion posts.

Until next time, be well!

xx
