Getting Over The Resolution Slump

getting over the resolution slump- majeang.com

Hello, my lovelies! How are you? We’re in the full swing of February and most likely some of us have fallen off the resolution wagon. No judgement from me but, I suspect you’re probably beating yourself up for it. Or, have completely ignored it so you don’t beat yourself up for it. Completely understandable! No one needs that kind of energy in their lives. So to give you a little hand, I’m sharing my tips on getting over the resolution slump.

Getting Over The Resolution Slump

Re-visit Your Resolutions

First, let’s take a look again at your resolutions. Did you make these resolutions New Year’s day in the wee hours of the morning? Are they even realistic? Do you even want to do them? There’s no point in forcing yourself to do something you really don’t want to do. Say no to say yes! When you free yourself up from doing the things you don’t want to do, space is created for the stuff you really want to do. Now, I’ll just say that if your doctor says you need to eat less sugar because your health will benefit….listen and take action!

Adjust Your Plan

My second tip to getting over the resolution slump is to adjust your plan once you’ve gone through all your resolutions and made them more realistic. You will need to adjust how you will accomplish them. I wrote a whole post on goal setting here, if you’d like more detail but essentially, you just work backwards from achieving the goal to the first step.

Accountability

When you’ve got something in your head chances are it will remain there. So, apart from writing it down and adjusting your plan, you will need accountability. Who will you be accountable to? You could ask a friend who is on a similar journey or, join an online community. It might be a bit scary at first but once you have someone who is cheering for you, it can make all the difference.
