Why hello beautiful! How’s your week been? I haven’t done a lot of beauty posts (except for here and here) but I am currently using some products and thought I would share them with you. I have grouped the products according to what they are (i.e. cleanser) and brand for your ease.
Cleansers, toners and moisturisers
A few months ago I went to Keihl’s to have a look at their products, since everyone and their Grandma was talking about them. I met the lovely Maria who went through my then routine and recommended a few products for my combination, yet sensitive skin. Now let’s be clear, Keihl’s is not the cheapest of brands but you only have one skin and body so you need to take care of it.
For a cleanser I am using the Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Wash, which comes out in a gel like consistency and cleans my skin without stripping the oils like paint :). I also use and love the Ultra Facial Moisturizer with spf 30, which worked amazing in warmer climates and because it is incredibly light my pores didn’t get clogged. Speaking of warmer climates, whilst I was in Sri Lanka I was introduced to Spa Ceylon products which are Ayurveda based and organic.
I have to say that I really, really, really love the products that I purchased. They are light, refreshing and really gentle on my skin because it can be a little bit tempermental. I tried the White Mint Facial Cleanser which is a cream based cleanser that comes out like a thick milk(sorry I couldn’t find a link), the downside to this product is that it gets thick after awhile and you can no longe pump it out. I really needed a toner so tried the White Mint Toner an alcohol free product that feels so refreshing and soothing at the same time.
Technically, this isn’t a toner but I use it as one and that’s the Avene Thermal Spring Water. I was first introduced to this in a goody bag when I attended 30 Plus Blogs and their talk on Ageing. I am a huge fan of this product, so much so, that I went and bought the bigger can! 🙂 Because I have some redness on one cheek that is being stubborn (read annoying) and it soothes my skin if it feels hot.
This moisturiser I have only being using for the past couple of weeks and interchange with the Keihl’s Ultra Facial one, depending on what my skin needs, is the Avene Antirougeurs Jour Redness Relief Moisturising Protective Emulsion which has spf 20 and is very light on the skin.
Tip: look for travel size products as they’re cheaper and last long enough for you to see if they’re working
Next group of products are…
Serums and treaments
The serums that I am using are from Spa Ceylon; one for the day and one for the night. White Jasmine Day Hydrating Serum, does what it says on the bottle. I apply this right after my toner, before applying a moisturiser. I do the same for the night time serum which I treat like gold because it just smells so lovely, feels amazing on my skin and it’s the White Tuberose Face Repair Night Serum .
Finally, for treatment I use the Avene Antirougeurs Fort Relief for Chronic Redness and although it’s been a few weeks of usage I am really impressed with it. I will definitely be purchasing a tube.
My last category would be scents and there’s only that I seem to reach for time and time again; it’s My Burberry by Burberry. I rave about this perfume every chance I get. So if you haven’t checked it out please do!
Tip: ask for samples when you’ve purchased a product.
