The Water Challenge

Hello my beauties, how have you been? How was your Christmas? I hope that whatever you did, it filled you with joy. If not, take heart, you have another day to have your heart filled x

So on with today’s post. I was emailed recently about a campaign that The Body Shop is doing in conjunction with WaterAid and thought I would share it with you. We all know the importance of water however, did you know that not everyone in the world has access to clean water? When I was growing up in Trinidad and Tobago there were occassions when we didn’t have any water due to the dry season. Some areas of the island didn’t have water for days or there would be certain hours of the day when you would have running water. But just imagine not having water at all or, having to walk far distances to get water. Scary right?

According to The Body Shop, in the UK the average person uses 150 litres of water each day. How would you fare if you had to live off of 40 litres for 24 hours? That includes cooking, showering, using the loo, brushing your teeth, washing wares etc. Think about your average day with your family and how much water is used.

That’s the challenge that The Body Shop is asking you to take up. Could you survive on 40 litres for a day? I did it when I was growing up and let me tell you have a healthy respect for water flowing out your tap. You take it less for granted.

So beautiful, will you take up the challenge? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Special thanks to @TheBodyShopUK and @30PlusBlogs
