Easy Morning Ritual for Busy People

easy morning ritual

Happy Tuesday my lovelies! It’s officially autumn and October! Before we know it, it will be Christmas and NYE which is crazy to me. I feel like we only just celebrated the start of 2017 a couple months ago! Time passes by so quickly and the pace of life doesn’t seem to slow down, which is why it’s so important to take care of yourself. You know I’m a massive fan of self-care (even though I sometimes forget to do it myself!). Seems as though if you’re 30 years and above, your responsibilities triple! With that in mind, today’s post is for you. Read on for my easy morning ritual for busy people.

Easy Morning Ritual

Deep breaths

That’s right slow deep breaths are the way to go. You could even build up to a 5-minute meditation where you’re just following your breath. No pressure and not in a hurry. Just you and your breath. Or if that doesn’t work for you, think about all the good things in your life whilst you inhale and exhale. Thinking good thoughts makes you feel good about yourself and your life which, helps to build resilience and deal with the challenges of life differently.

Warm lemon water

I’ve spoken about the importance of water (here and here) and want to add my 2 pence about warm lemon water. It’s a great way to jumpstart your body. It’s a great gentle detox and because it’s alkaline, it creates a much better environment in your gut area. I also noticed that I’m less bloated in the morning and have less of a tummy.

Stretch

Yes, people, you need to stretch! Get the blood pumping and moving. If you’re one of these amazing humans that can be up by 5 am and power through a HIIT circuit or Bikram yoga, teach me your ways! However, if you’re more of the gently, gently does it vein, stretch. Simple ones to get your muscles warmed up now especially after the deep breaths. This is especially important for us in the 30 plus age group. We’re not old and we’d like to keep it that way!

As with all rituals, the effects are cumulative and it takes time to really see or feel the effects. Essentially give it time! I didn’t call it an easy morning ritual for nothing! When your morning starts off with the right mindset, the rest of your day tends to flow a bit smoother. It doesn’t mean easy peasy but, you are more focused and able to tackle your day. I would love to know what your easy morning ritual is like. Share in the comments below!
