Power of Scent

power of scent

Picture it, you’re in a crowded room and someone walks past you smelling like some divine goddess or god. Before you know it you’re transported back to a past memory long forgotten. That my folks is the power of scent. Our sense of smell is so powerful that it can affect the decisions we make, change our moods (explains why scented candles are so popular) and our behaviour. Don’t think the power of scent can affect your behaviour? Then why does the smell of baked bread and coffee wafting through a house that’s being sold, advocated by estate agents? Hmm?

Power of Scent, perfumes

Case in point perfumes, which have been around for hundreds of years, have always played an important role in society. In the arena of seduction and romance there are a plethora of options. One such option recently caught my attention a) because of who brought it out and b) needing something for autumn/winter.

Introducing By Invitation from Michael Buble. In a nutshell he wanted to send a special invitation (hence the name) to his female fans, through scent. So I took up his invitation when I won a little twitter competition and I have to say, pretty good MB…that’s what I call him in my head.

First off let’s take a moment with the packaging. To me it’s like a work of art that I would happily display for all to see and reminds me of old school perfume bottles. The fragrance contains red fruits, bergamont, lily of valley, elegant rose, wild jasmine, spicy peony, sandalwood musks and vanilla praline. I know it’s a lot! It does pay off though.

When I first sprayed it, I initially thought it was a strong scent but then it settled. What remained was this beautiful subtle, sexy wearable scent that got me compliments. In terms of longevity, it lasted throughout the entire day and I look forward to wearing it everytime I go out.

So if you’re in the market for something for the new season, or as a present (nope don’t make me say the C word yet) then it’s perfect.

I’d love to know what your favourite scent is in the comments below.

As always thank you for reading and let me know what you would love to read or see on the blog. Don’t forget to subscribe 🙂

Until next time, be well!
