Sky Garden

Hope you’ve been having a great week! Hang in there, Friday is almost upon us and then the weekend!

As I mentioned in Monday’s post I went to the Sky Garden on Fenchurch Street for a belated birthday drink with my gorgeous friend Lizzie (her birthday not mine). We’d never been so I thought it would be a pretty great place to try out, as the photos on the site look pretty spectacular. Then again, most photos of places would look spectacular. It’s not like you’d want crap pictures (rant over :))

I couldn’t get a reservation but they did say that they take walk-ins from 6pm. Great I thought, that is until we saw how many walk-ins there were. Eventually we made it to the front of the queue and we were told by the receptionist, ‘Give me 2 minutes and I’d let you up’. An hour later (yes you read hour) we were still waiting and by this point it became about the principle plus it was pouring rain outside. No one addressed the queue to explain the system of one in one out, nor did anyone really apologise, which to me was a bit poor customer service. I get it, you’re a hot venue and everyone wants to go there but we’re all human and should be treated as such.

Finally we got in and I was impressed. Take a look….

The cocktails were pretty decent, albeit pricey but you don’t go to Sky Garden for £7 cocktails do ya! I had a Berry Mojito and Lizzie had a pink concoction with a massive piece of cotton candy top!

All in all pretty okay and I would re-visit but with a reservation this time and hopefully maybe I’ll try the restaurant.

Have you been to Sky Garden before? What did you think?
