Happy Thursday peeps! Yes it’s Thursday which means you can just about smell the weekend 🙂 Also you may notice that I’m posting today. I decided to switch up my posting days so it will be Mondays and Thursdays. What do you think?
On with today’s post….
I was thinking about all the things I know now that I wish I knew or was told when I was a teenager. Not in a regretful way but more wistful and hope future generations are told type of way. I asked a few people what they wished they were told and here they are.
I wish I was told about financial management. I didn’t have a clue about savings, budgeting, rent, mortgages etc.
Money provides you with options but do not become a slave to it.
Taxes! Someone to tell me that I don’t get to keep everything I earn through work and explain why.
It would have been nice to be told about CV writing, interviewing skills and the working world
Hard work will not always equate to success. You can put up a good fight and still lose.
Study something that will have longevity as well as, something you enjoy.
Education is important but we all learn differently.
Life has no defined plans; chart your own course and work smart.
Each year that passes, the carefree attitude and freedom you have will diminish as your responsibilities grow. So enjoy it in your summer years so you will have great memories in your autumn years.
Have as much fun as possible, those are the moments you live for and fear of society becomes overwhelming with passing of age.
Follow your dreams and don’t conform to the normality of life. If you want to do something then do it, it doesn’t matter how obscure or random it is, if it will make you happy then that’s all you need behind you.
Don’t try to be ‘cool’ or ‘popular’; you’re awesome no matter what, so just run with it. I am enough exactly as I am.
Trust yourself and your instincts
Personality and character define most of your paths.
Boy/girl crushes are set along the lines of a Disney theme, and slowly turn into horror suspense and romance so don’t settle but being realistic also doesn’t hurt.
It is okay to make friends from all walks of life.
Men lie, women lie, people lie.
Thanks to all of you who shared with me. Now I ask you, what do you wish you were told as a teenager? Share in the comments. Oh and follow my blog if you aren’t doing so as yet! 🙂
