So Judge Judy has a new book out. She was talking about it on a recent interview in the U.S. Anyway, I was thinking that would be an interesting book to read. Lo and behold, she announces that the book is free to download. Sweet!
It’s a short read but in typical Judge Judy style it packs a punch. She tells it like it is. The book is called, Be The Hero of Your Own Story and it’s aimed at women but I believe some of the advice is useful for everyone. The theme of the book is confidence and not letting people define you. For instance she says, ”Being beholden never appealed to me as a life choice. I wanted my status to be something I created.” Something we all strive for in life.
What I liked about the book was the simplicity and how easy it was to read it. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to read cover to cover. She has interesting anecdotes from her life and she is an advocate for hard work, believing in yourself and making you a priority even if you have a family. All good stuff if you ask me. However, as I was coming to the end of the book it did cross my mind that it all sounds too easy. Let’s be real here, sometimes hard work and knowing your worth does not equate to your version of success. As if she read my mind, Judge Judy puts in her epilogue a bit of realism.
That’s my 2 pence on the book. You can download your free copy by clicking this link, http://www.whatwouldjudysay.com/be-the-hero
